PostSubject: 10k run   22/11/2006, 8:18 pm

I think the 10k run's a very good idea: You wouldn't all have to participate, but it might be worth trying to get other people to do it for charity (I'll be willing to do it).

PostSubject: BUY A BOOK for Sankandi and Sioma   26/11/2006, 7:27 pm

The idea is that we ask the parents and pupils to buy one extra Christmas present this year - a book for the Sankandi and Sioma Libraries.

They should be English and both educational and 'reading books'. We need:

1, permissions from Marchiaggiano, Clerget and Kivinen (tell our primary and secondary librarians)

2. posters to advertise the idea (and explain)
3. collection times and places
4 storage place

Notice on the school web site?

So, now one/two of you need to run with this idea, get organised, see me to discuss, involve others.... any volunteers??????

PostSubject: Re: Fund raising   27/11/2006, 6:44 pm

right, i'm suggesting something else, its very similar to the 10k run only that, not beeing very fit myself i would probably die while doing it so i suggest getting in a little group (7 or 8 ppl the more we are the more fun we have)and climbing an overrall of 1k on a 12m wall, meaning that if we are 8 each of us would have to climb 10 times, perfectly feasable for all!

as for the books, i don't mind helping to organise it.....

let me know

Blimey Giacomo you keep jumping straight into everything - give yourself a rest for once! Sleep

I don't mind helping with the books - I seem to have attained a rather suspect amount of spare time recently Suspect

The wall climbing thing actually sounds quite fun. I did escalade for two years, but I gave up because I was rubbish. OH WELL, I'm still up for it.

I also would quite like to organise the book collecting thing, if that's alright with Adam.

anyways, don't be impressed by what i do just yet, I once read in a book that it is not only thae words that count but also the actions that follw these words, I can assure you that we will all be impressed with each other by the time this ends! Very Happy

I'm up for getting permissions from Marchiaggiano, Clerget and Kivinen (telling our primary and secondary librarians) and eventually making posters to advertise the idea (and explain)!

PostSubject: fund raising   30/11/2006, 7:43 pm

As i told the 7th years today I spoke to Joe Mwtumwe this morning. He has spoken to the Heads in Sankandi and Sioma schools and suggests we buy:
1. matresses for Sioma boarding house (7th years can explain why). They cost approx 30 Euros each.
2. desks and chairs for Sankandi: about 40 Euros each (including transport)

Ok?

Do you already have an idea on the supplier or is that something we need to look into? (I'm presuming that we'll be buying the items in mass orders, or is the idea to buy seperately over time?)

PostSubject: Re: Fund raising   1/12/2006, 8:50 pm

right, a few weeks in the project, we find ourselves with a lot of ideas:
we have made the point this afternoon on who is co-ordinating what:

bom

cakesale: signe
climbing (1k): Giacomo
Running: Megan and Jimmy
Non-uniform day: Megan
Car wash (too early to get going anyways)
Book sale: victoria seems to have taken hold of the situation

lol! we also came up with the idea of having techers submit themselves to recieving plates whith cream onto their face from the students, (each student would participate for a small prize)
whoever can get miss mairtin to do this wins 5e!!! Twisted Evil
otherwise the most charismatich one of us should get piccinin to be sponsored (giving all the money to our project of course) to go around with an american flag on his back for one whole day.... lol!

I like the idea of getting students to pay to attack the teachers, getting willing participants may be a problem though... scratch

Maybe we could get a polish teacher or slovenian teacher to participate, people will be more likely to participate if they have the teacher for one of their lessons.

What about Rivers?

Good morning its time to start fund raising, since it is harder to get thingsgoing as a group, it might be a good idea to start doing a bit of things personnally.....

My mum's a member of some club, and she's a cast member in a play, I could ask her to ask people for donations.

On that note; should we ask for monetary or material donations? If the latter, what should we ask for?
